About the Role

Are you a passionate and qualified Croatian language educator? We seek a dedicated Croatian national (native speaker) to deliver engaging, structured Croatian language lessons to motivated Indian students via virtual platforms. You will create a supportive online environment, design culturally relevant lessons, and help students achieve fluency for academic, professional, travel, or personal enrichment goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Virtual Instruction: Deliver dynamic, interactive Croatian lessons (1-on-1 or small groups) using platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams.

2. Curriculum Development: Create structured lesson plans tailored to different proficiency levels (A1-C2 CEFR) and Indian learner needs, incorporating grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

3. Cultural Integration: Seamlessly weave Croatian culture, traditions, and contemporary life into lessons to enhance understanding and engagement.

4. Student Assessment: Track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and conduct regular assessments.

5. Resource Creation: Develop or adapt supplementary materials (exercises, presentations, multimedia).

6. Communication: Maintain clear communication with students and the program coordinator regarding schedules, progress, and challenges.

7. Technical Proficiency: Reliably manage virtual classroom technology and online teaching tools.

Essential Requirements

1.  Nationality & Language: Croatian citizenship and Native-level fluency in Croatian (excellent command of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation).

2.  Education: Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Croatian Language/Literature, Linguistics, Education, Foreign Language Teaching (or a related field). A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., pedagogy certificate, TESOL/TEFL/CELTA with language teaching specialization) is MANDATORY.

3.  Teaching Experience: Proven experience (minimum 1-2 years) teaching Croatian as a foreign/second language. Experience teaching online is essential. Experience teaching Indian or diverse international students is a significant plus.

4.  Technical Skills: High-speed internet connection, reliable computer, quality webcam & microphone, proficiency with video conferencing platforms and basic digital teaching tools (e.g., Google Workspace, shared docs, simple interactive whiteboards).

5.  Teaching Skills: Ability to explain complex grammar clearly, create engaging activities, adapt teaching methods to different learning styles, and foster a positive, encouraging online environment.

6.  Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, patience, cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and strong organizational skills. Must be punctual and reliable.

7.  Schedule Flexibility: Availability to teach during Indian evening hours (IST) or weekends, corresponding to convenient times in Croatia (e.g., IST afternoons/evenings = Croatian mornings/afternoons). Ability to accommodate some student schedule preferences.

Desirable Qualifications

*  Master's degree in a relevant field.

*  Certification specifically for teaching Croatian as a foreign language.

*  Experience developing online language courses or curricula.

*  Familiarity with popular language learning platforms (Duolingo, Memrise) or Learning Management Systems (LMS).

*  Basic understanding of Hindi or other major Indian languages (not mandatory, but helpful for explaining concepts).

*  Experience preparing students for Croatian language proficiency exams.
