About the Role

We seek a native German-speaking teacher (from Germany, Austria, or Switzerland) to deliver high-quality virtual German language instruction to motivated Indian students. You will design engaging lessons, foster cultural understanding, and help students achieve fluency for study, work, migration, or personal growth.


Key Responsibilities

1. Virtual Instruction: Conduct interactive 1-on-1/small-group lessons via Zoom, Teams, or similar platforms.


2. Curriculum Design: Create structured lesson plans (A1-C1 CEFR) tailored to Indian learners, covering grammar, vocabulary, speaking, writing, and pronunciation.


3. Cultural Integration: Embed German/Austrian/Swiss cultural contexts (traditions, social norms, daily life) into lessons.


4. Progress Tracking: Assess student performance, provide feedback, and adjust teaching strategies.


5. Resource Development: Prepare exercises, presentations, and digital learning materials.


6. Communication: Coordinate schedules and progress reports with students and program team.


Essential Requirements

Nationality & Language: Citizenship of Germany, Austria, or Switzerland.


Native-level German proficiency (excellent grammar, vocabulary, and accent).


Education:


1. Bachelor’s degree in German Linguistics, Education, DaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache), or related field.


2. Mandatory teaching certification (e.g., Goethe-Institut certification, DaF/DaZ qualification, TESOL/TEFL with language specialization).


Experience:

1. Minimum 2 years teaching German as a foreign language.


2. Proven online teaching experience.


3. Experience with Indian/Asian learners is a strong advantage.


Technical Setup:

Reliable high-speed internet, quality webcam/microphone, and proficiency with virtual classroom tools.


Skills:

1. Ability to simplify complex grammar, adapt to learning styles, and create engaging digital lessons.

2. Cultural sensitivity, patience, and strong communication skills.


Availability: Flexibility to teach during Indian evening hours (IST) or weekends. *(e.g., 6:00–10:00 PM IST = 2:30–6:30 PM CET)*.


Desirable Qualifications

Master’s degree in German Linguistics, Education, or DaF.


Certification for teaching DaF (e.g., Goethe-Institut, Telc).


Experience preparing students for exams (Goethe-Zertifikat, TestDaF, ÖSD, or Telc).


Familiarity with LMS platforms (Moodle, Canvas) or language apps (Duolingo, Babbel).


Basic Hindi/English proficiency (to bridge communication gaps).


Experience designing digital curricula for remote learners.
